Body length 25 cm; Weight 350 g. The plumage is green, the bottom is yellow-green, occipital feathers with black borders, many ears are black. The primary flyers — blue-violet, small covering — red; minor flyers — Blue. The beak is dark gray, lighter at the base. Plots around the eyes and paws — Gray. The female is smaller, small covering wings are more green.
It lives on Jamaica.
Inhabit wet tropical selshanes at an altitude of 600—1500 m above sea level. Live in small groups, as a rule, up to 5 birds. However, they are not rare and packs of up to 30 birds. Feed on fruits, seeds and nuts.
The marriage period begins in early January. In laying 2—3, rarely 4, eggs. Running lasts approximately 26 days. Both parents feed chicks. After about 8 weeks, the young leave the nest, and they become completely independent after 4 weeks.
