Body length 33-34 cm; weight about 340 g. The main coloring of the green plumage. Forehead, front of the head, throat and lower body are lighter. The back of the head and the entire upper side of the body are dark green, with a gray-blue border at the ends. Fighting wings yellow or yellow-orange. The beak is gray-yellow. The iris is orange-red. Male and female are painted the same.
Lives in Ecuador and Colombia, in the northwest of Venezuela.
Subtropical and tropical raw forests, lowlands, subtropical and tropical raw mountain forests are inhabited to a height of 3,500 m above sea level. These are shy and restless parrots. Their voice can be heard in the early morning hours and in the evening, when they fly into the valleys to feed and return for the night in mountains. Very little is known about their life in nature.

The nesting period lasts from February to June. The nests are arranged in hollow trees high from the ground. In the masonry 2-4 eggs.
