Parrot length 20 cm. The coloring of the plumage is green, yellowish below. The male has a red forehead, a yellow nape, a purple strip passes from the eye between the back of the head and the cheek. The female looks like a male with a red spot on her forehead and yellowish-green cheeks.
Endemic Indonesia. Lives on the island of vetar, the western part of Timor and on the Small Sunda Islands.
Inhabit forests and wooded areas to a height of 1,500 m above sea level. Usually live in small flocks.
Due to the ongoing reduction of the natural habitat, a limited area and illegal capture is under threat of disappearance, is included in the red list of threatened species.
