Body length 33—34 cm. Green plumage. Breast is lemon, forehead and front of the head violet-brown. Head with blue tint. Nape and edges of the neck — Blue. Secondary fly-purple fluary, in the first five there is red «mirror». The beak of yellow-bone color. Current rings are gray. The iris is orange. Gray paws.
Lives in the West Mexico.
Inhabit wet tropical selshanes, coniferous and oak forests to a height of 2200 m above sea level. In the marriage period they live mainly in pairs or small groups. The rest of the time they gather in large flocks — 200 to 300 birds. They feed on seeds, fruits, berries, nuts and kidneys. Damage to banana plantations.
The population has from 7,000 to 10,000 birds.
