Body length 25 cm. The main color of the green plumage. A dark brown hat on the head, on the throat and neck it has a scaly pattern of whitish color. Upper covering wings red. The beak is black.
Lives in the northeast and in the central part of Peru, in the north of Bolivia and the West of Brazil.
Inhabits wet lowlands and seasonally flooded forests. Little is known about the lifestyle of this species in nature.
