The coloring of the plumage in green, red and golden yellow colors, the back of the head has a stain of golden yellow color. The forehead is red, the cheeks are blue, the male has a red spot on the throat. The beak is red.
Lives in the Philippine Islands.

- Loriculus Philippensis Dohertyi Hartert, 1906 — Endemic island Basilan.
- Loriculus Philippensis Mindorensis Steere, 1890 — Endemic island Minoro.
- Loriculus Philippensis Panayensis — lives on the islands of Ticao, Masbate and Panai.
