Body length 27 cm, tail 5 cm; Weight 179-222. The coloring of plumage in pale and dark, brown and red colors. The upper back and wings are dark brown with pale brown borders. The lower body of the body is red with a purple tint. Black head plumage with a bluish tint. A dark brown strip runs along the forehead. The subsidiary has a light red color, some individuals have a violet border. Yellow beak with a dark tip.
It lives in the southeastern Venezuela, Gayan, Suriname, French Guiana and the northern part of Brazil.
Inhabit tropical forests, rarely found on open plains.
In the masonry from 3 to 5 eggs. Running lasts about 26-30 days.
