Body length in males is up to 32 cm, in females 29 cm; weight to 136 g. The coloring of the plumage is mainly green. Breast, abdomen and sinking yellow-green. The head is green, the overlaws are purple-blue. The beak is light, silver-gray, with a black tip. The iris is orange. The legs are gray.
Lives on antipodes islands. Another look lives there — Kakariki Raishek (Cyanoramphus Hochstetteri).
Inhabit meadows. They feed on leaves, kidneys, cereals and stems of sedge, sometimes with seeds and flowers, obviously, do not neglect moss.
Nesting in holes, often more than a meter long. In the masonry 5-6 eggs. 1-3 chicks survive in nature. Life expectancy for more than 10 years.
